Benjamin Ramon

MEd., LPC-A, LMFT-A

I believe you are created for wholeness. I also recognize this world is full of pitfalls and harms that create wounds, and sometimes we are also the ones causing wounds. I believe we tell ourselves stories to make sense of this world, and sometimes those stories are more informed by those wounds than they are our intentional design. I believe my role as a counselor is to help you recognize blind spots, uncover untrue stories you are telling yourself, and grow tools to help in your journey of healing and wholeness.

I hold a Masters of Art in Counseling as well as a Masters in Education. I practice counseling in the State of Texas as an LPC Intern supervised by Dr. Jerry Terrill, LPC-S, LMFT-S, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Associate. Additionally, I am a member of the American Counseling Association.

I have advanced training in marriage counseling, and I am certified in level 1 and  level 2 with The Gottman Method of marriage therapy which is a scientifically proven therapy for couples. I have extensive ministry experience beginning in 1999, largely working with couples and individuals and helping them work through places they are “stuck” in life.

I have been married since 2002, and together we have three children and a dog named Vanilla. I love basketball… everything about basketball! In my free time, I also enjoy watching a good movie.

Marcos Leon

MA, LPC-A, Biblical Counselor, Spiritual director

I am the proud father of five, ranging from a 2018 college-graduated beautiful young woman, to a 2020 born girl who is keeping me young. Thinking of each one of them makes me smile. I am originally from Ecuador and a lover and explorer of the riches of cultures.

The U.S. has become my home for almost two decades already. Julie, my wife, is the best part of me. We married in 2011 in a celebration of the faithfulness and grace of God in our lives. We live north of Houston in a spacious place that is reconnecting our family with the beauty and the adventure of nature, the blessing of community, and the hope of seeing our family join shared purpose for the sake of wholeness in every season.

I love nature, trees, the sky, and good stories. I love road trips with the family and dream of a season when we can engage in a long journey to visit the beautiful places that I’d like to see before I die. I love silence and I’m constantly trying to overcome the chronic distraction of my mind, so I can learn to be more present and discover the beauty of people and of God in everyone and everywhere. This learning has become the desire of my heart.

My passion is to discover the dynamics of psychology, spirituality, and behavior in the human soul. I do it while respecting the personal perspectives and preferences of my clients. I believe all human beings are constantly being formed and shaped by the experiences they live and by the quality of connection they experience with other human beings and with their own core values. I believe all human beings are wonderfully made and able to learn and grow, even if that requires some un-learning and re-learning. In this context, I have been serving in the fields of spiritual formation as a coach and facilitator since 2007, and counseling as a profesional counselor since 2018.

I work with adults and couples. I specialize in soul care, anxiety management, development of emotional maturity, grief, sexual addiction, and betrayal.

I am a Spiritual Director, a Biblical counselor, and a LPC-A under the supervision of Dr. Jerry L. Terrill, LPC-S, LMFT-S #3264. I am an APSATS MPTM Trained counselor.

Listen to periodically recorded conversations about spiritual matters. Also available in Spanish.
